Interesting.  Several letters are actually supportive of the PM, though in one breath a fella is critical of those who critise the Canadian/Lebanese, and then gives an anti-military rant.  Oh, and someone else wonders where the "RCN" and "RCAF" are.  Should someone tell him that they no longer exist? ;)

Anyway, here is the link.  Has the pendulum swung in favour of Mr. Harper?

A poll on CTV.ca has it about even (between mercy mission 47%  and media moment  53%).

LOL: Probably jmcleod or one of those guys in the "bring back the RCN"/ "Bring back the brig" threads.

It take time to gather that much staff and equipment and also getting both country's to allow them in to get out safe.
As far as the Liberal and NDP comments are both out to lunch.

Here is a CTV story from one of our own.

A Canadian soldier's report from South Lebanon

If we vote in governments that pledge cutting back and turning a blind eye to what the country needs for 10+ years you end up with situations like this.   People should get a clue.   We should be happy the PM had the common sense to see he had a big empty plain and was in the neighbourhood.  It may have been good press but common sense all the same.  Wow I just said that all about Harper :o  Who knew? he might have alittle sense after all.

The point is that it would have been a media moment one way or another..Here's to doing the right thing
