Hello everyone:

I have sone questions concerning the CF recruiting process please.

Can I get credit for the aptitude test(my aptitude test was successful) if I open a new application for another reserve unit within 3 years?

Also, during my interview I could not think of an example where I had shown responsibility at a job.
Since that time, I recalled that I had paper routes(which I would consider responsible)when I was younger.

Would it be best to request another interview where I could mention this example of reponsibility and my recent membership to the Royal Canadian Legion (which would hopefully improve my application)?

Also, if I opened a new application for another reserve unit, I would receive another interview even though I have a closed application on file, correct?

I want to reapply to the reserves when I have completed my program at community college.

Again, your advice, comments and suggestions would be most helpful! :)

once you reapply after a certain period of time, all of your past tests are "thrown away" so you will be asked to do all the testing again...then you can tell them new information

So I could apply to another reserve unit even if I have a closed application on file?

If the closed application was still on file, would I do the aptitude test and the interview again during the application process?

Any information would be appreciated! :)

When I reapply to the CF, it will be in two years time.
Is it best to wait until the three years has gone by and my closed applcation is not on file?
That way, it would be less confusing than having two applications on file, correct?
By then, I would have completed my Community College diploma, would have worked
for an additional year hopefully, and could mention that I am an Associate Member of
the Royal Canadian Legion! :)

Again, your advice would be appreciated!

From what I remember you have to redo the whole process if your application has been idle for a year or more.

Here's the deal:

You will have to do the entire application process over again -- including tests, med exams, interviews, etc. Depending on the test/exam, they (as in CFRC) expunge that test/exam from your file any where between 6 to 12 months.

You should not worry too much, as you've been through it already, and it is familiar.

However, my suggestion to you is this >> write down on paper all the things that you want to mention in the interview.

In particular, write down (and be able to talk about) your previous work, job responsibilities, leadership roles, career expectations (i.e. where you want to go in life), and any relevant hobbies or sports.

While you don't need to do this type of prep work for an NCM role in a ResF unit, it won't hurt. In fact, it could only help your application.

However, if you plan to apply for an Officer position, this type of prep is A MUST!
