As some of you know I had my CFAT and PT yesterday. I was worried about it, as you know through all the questions i have asked for the past couple of weeks about my test. I did these tests in the Toronto Recruiting Center and there where about 25 other people tested with me that day. I am so happy i passed all the test ;D ;D. They told me that i have to wait 2 weeks for them to complete the security checks and then they will book my medical. So i guess i am entering the "Wait" stage of "Hurry and Wait" now.
Anyway i just want to give all the new comers a review of how the tests look at Toronto recruiting center.
CFAT-
The test will be done on a computer, its also as hard as i expected to be (Wayyyyy harder than the sample questions). I am a total dumbass in Math but i still qualified for all the occupations in the Army. My occupation choice was Infantry and it still is. I thought i wouldnt have enough time but everything was alright, i had just the right amount of time.
PT-
8 people including me where doing PT that day togather. They took us to a different room. The room was small and consisted of the Double Stairs, and a mat. The PT tester was a civilian. I did awfully weak on the grip test (95kg) I can't believe it, my friend has this thing for testing and i would usually get 60 in each hand. The step test is confusing at the beginning, I don't know how they determine what speed you will be starting at. Couple guys before me would start at walking speed and finish at joging speed. I started at running speed and ended on say sprinting speed. I completed stage 2 and the test ended. Also you will do the test with a partner. Situps where easy nothing to say here, except that your hands have to be behind your ears and when you do them touch your knees with your elbows when going up. My partner was holding my legs and i did 35 situps.
Push ups where easy, although 6 people failed on push ups. They put a mat on the floor, its about 2 inchs high from the floor.
You have to touch your chin on it, elbows touching your sides and hand under shoulders. I did 25 push ups, although i know i can do more..
I can't believe 6 people failed the PT, i mean some of the other recruits couldn't do any push ups or situps. When you go for your test be sure to test yourself a couple days before so you know your ready. Also to study for the test i used the GED highschool diploma study book. Helped me a little.
Basically this is what happened, if anyone has any questions please ask. The hard part is over!!
Thanks for all the help guys!
