Is there any government-funded program which provides money to the children and family of fallen soldiers? I've looked but all I can find are privately-funded groups.

Your profile shows you in Ottawa, so you could try going to the IPSC at NDMC - on 1745 Alta Vista Drive.

DND has no formal funding program. Though there is the RMC Dominion Cadetship, which has it's criteria available online, and successfel applicants are approved by the MND.

There are two charity organizations, Military Famailies Fund, and Military Casualty Suppport Foundation can provide limited short term funds for emergencies.

VAC has a program which is supposed to be more comprehensive, though as I've very little knowledge, I'd say look it up.

I guess you're aware of Canada Company, which can help with finding scholarships.
