My latest gaming addiction is Cold War in 3mm 0or 1/600 scale. After much discussion with my local gaming club we settled on both a rule set and scale to work in.

We're using a really good and easy to grasp/play rule set called Cold War Commander http://www.coldwar-commander.com/

Models are from Oddzial Osmy (O8) a Polish company and distributed in North America by
http://www.picoarmor.com/ There are most of the major NATO and Warsaw Pact vehicles available in their line so far, (some Canadian stuff missing such as the Lynx and AVGPs) and they're adding t the line on a regular basis. Prices are for war gaming figures unbelievably low. I finally get to build a 1- 1 scale Soviet Tank Division and all of 4 CMBG at a price the Domestic Niner can tolerate (barely)

Already completed a T-72 regiment ( 3x Tank Bns, 1x Mech Inf, and Arty, Air Def, Recce etc)

Each of the vehicle bases is 40mm x40mm, and yes I'm using a bit or artistic licence on the paint scheme. Russian Green is just too plain.

The RCD and 1 RCHA are also done and pictures will soon follow.

I think I see myself spending some $$$ in the future to supplement my already "too large" collection of war games :)

Larry they paint up fairly easy, prime, base coat, dry brush a few details like tracks et, ink and base.  The real hard part in doing the 1980's circa RCDs is the teeny tiny George Wallace model. ;D

TK come on you know you want to.  8)

My addiction grows much to the displeasure of the D9er who is waiting for it to get nice enough outside to banish me to the backyard and continue landscaping and home reno.

No pics of 4CMBG stuff, yet although  both the RCD and RCHA are done.

Have been working on terrain to play this on, and decided to try modular terrain panels as they combine playability  and realism with ease of storage and transport. Eventual plan is to have enough panels to make a 4'x6' table which at this scale should enable Brigade sized battles ( I've done Brigade games already on 4x6 and it was only a bit crowded).

The first twelve12"/30cm square panels are done, only thirty-six more to go.

Sure it is....Everyone knows that good single malt goes with gaming.

Buddy on the gaming forum from Brazil posted pics with a nice bottle of JD to show the scale, and now everyone is just trying to one up him. Me I just love the bargains you can get at Hong Kong duty free just wish I went through it more often. ;D
