Contact your local SISIP rep (through your unit OR)

SISP has a few different types of plans you can use to help offset the cost of education. It may not be 100% of the cost but closer to 75% or so. It is not upfront money as far as I know.

I received this from a SISP rep here in KTown

1. You may wish to apply under the CFPAF Education Assistance Loan Program (EALP). EALP consists of a loan to a maximum of $4,000.00 per eligible student per year, with a lifetime maximum of $16,000 per student. It was established to encourage and assist former members, or dependants of personnel who served or continue to serve as members of the Canadian Forces, Regular Component, in obtaining post-secondary education. The student must be enroled in a full-time post-secondary education program or an adult re-training program.Application forms are available at SISIP Financial Services offices and at the CFPAF office.

2. SISIP INFO:
Educational Assistance Loan Program (EALP)

Short term loans, from $1,200 to $4,000, are available to encourage and assist eligible serving and former personnel and their immediate family members to obtain a post-secondary education with a lifetime maximum of $16,000 per student. To Apply

Eligibility:

* Serving and former members of the CF (Regular) who have completed one year of service.

I just got this lecture on my last parade night.

The reserves will reimburse you for any undergraduate university courses taken, 100%, up to a limit of $2,000 per year, and a maximum of $8,000 in total.

The program is still a pilot, and so there are no guarantees, but it has been extended to the 2004/2005 year.

The courses do not have to be applicable to your MOC. Any courses leading to a first degree (bachelor‘s) qualifies.

Non-university courses (college, technical, etc) are on a case-by-case basis. Post-grad degrees are not allowed.

New claims must be submitted within 1 year of eligibility. A member becomes eligible 1 SEP of the year following their studies.

Members must complete BMQ by the following SEP and remain on effective strength. NES over 30 days will cause you to become ineligible. ED&T does not affect eligibility.

To make a claim, see your unit fin clk.

Info valid as of 9 DEC 2003, see ADM(HR-MIL) Instr. 04/01.

ok im taking a Pre-Apprenticeship for electrical. would the army reimburst me for that?

Paul; The only way you will get a good answer, that covers everything, is by going to the recruiting center and asking.
This website is great for debate and discussion, but when it comes to advice, nothing can replace the advice of a recruiter. Admittingly, they‘re not perfect either, but it‘s better then info over the internet. (No offence to anyone who gives it, but getting it first-hand is better then on a forum no matter how good it is.)
