Component Transfer re. kit

Hi all,

I've searched around, but haven't been able to come up with an answer, so maybe someone can offer some insight.  I'm just about to start a component transfer to the reg force from the reserves.  I'm going to have to start from scratch and take BMQ in St Jean.  What I am wondering, will I have to turn in my kit and get new stuff, or will I be keeping my current kit?

My fingers are crossed for the latter.    ;D

All the people from my unit that have gone Regs have kept everything (unless they didn't want to so they would have less stuff to move) except for kit drawn from the Bty QM ie: ear defenders etc.

From Res to Reg one usually keeps their kit.

This same question has ben brought up last week.  it depends on your MOC and the most current scale of issue for you will be available at your local clothing stores.

You will probably be made to turn it again upon out-clearance. Beings ops kit and all they are probably (I won't say never, but probably) not going to let you post it during a CT.

Call your COC or recruiting centre.  (It's not clear in your post WHY you are going to Gagetown).

How about elaborating on why. Course or what? Contact your BOR and speak to your CClk. Use some iniatiave. Its your fault if you do nothing.

Im Component tranfer. I am posted to gagetown. I have alot of kit here and want to make sure i have everything . Cause if im missing anything i can go to NDHQ in the AM tomorrow.

I don't recall being "stingy about advice" - I (and Wesley) gave you the only advice that makes sense in your circumstances.

If you're "POSTED" to Gagetown, then why do you get "joining instructions"?  Normally, POSTINGS are initiated by a POSTING message - NOT/NOT joining instructions.

If you ARE posted to Gagetown, then any kit deficiencies will be taken care of on in-clearance.

If you are going on course, then my original advice stands.

Either way - show up with THAT attitude, and I can guarantee you'll have a hard time.

You say you are leaving in one day.

You say you do not have a "Joining Instruction".

You should have received a Joining Instruction when you were told when and where you were going, or you should have asked for it.

If you do not have all your kit, they will find that out when you get there.  They will do a kit check for the whole course, and make note of any deficiencies.  They you will be issued it there.  If you would have asked these questions through your Chain of Command, you would not be asking over the Internet the day before you leave.  How are you going to ship everything if you haven't got it packed already?  Time for you to pull up your socks.

A CT requires that the Res member clears out of his home unit and by reenrolling clears into his local CFRC.  CFRC then posts the member to the receiving unit.  It was my experience that CFRC ensures the member clears clothing stores and their home unit before issuing travel orders, claims, tickets.

TAC vests are issued by res units, not clothing stores, thus it is unlikely that your RQ would let a member keep it.

Keeping kit issued from clothing stores is not usually a drama if it is not operational scale.

OK here it is sorry for the poor attitude. This site every post i make gets delete. Sorry my spelling is not the best.

Ok here is my question. I was a RES VTECH i go in tomorrow am to sign my reg force contract for PH TECH and i have to be in gagetown for monday. I am all signed out of the res unit. Now all the kit i have right now is what small amount of kit i got issued to me in the 1 year of res. I was wondering if the CF had a kit list of what a soldier should have. Im leaving saturday and tomorrow being friday NDHQ is open tell noon. I woult like to check over everything i have and if I am missing anything would go get it right after i sign my paperwork.

As for joining instructions i was called monday with a offer and told be at CFRG for friday at 9am. Chain of comand at my old unit. Sorry were i was there was no chain of comand every question i asked i had to ask out side the unit for answers.

Sorry for the poor attitude but ive been shown no respect at all as to getting used to every post i make gets deleted.

And yes i did 2 years reg force in the air force as a AVN TECH and i VRd then went to the Pres ARMY as a VTECH for the last 13 months. Now i am going back in the Air Force Regs as a PH TECH.

Reason i asking about the kit is A my trade there is only 130 CF members in the trade. B there has only been 3 people recruited for this trade and the coarse is only offered in JANUARY.

I was being told by another member i may get there monday and clear in then be sent out to Petawawa a 2cer for OJT.
