My laptop has a bug,Windows and all my desk top icons are gone. Queston will using the recovery disc remove the bug as it recovers it?
The help desk wont answer this question as I did not get the extended warranty and the 90 day one expired 2 days ago.

Recovery will do a clean install - so any of your data on the system will be lost.

But yes, it should restore everything to factory new condition.

only had the laptop since Xmas few pics and some programs but nothing that cant be reloaded. was just worried it wouldn't fix the bug.

Could just be a bug that hid them, If you can go to your computer> in the tool bar (you may have to press alt) click on tools> go to folder options> view> advanced settings> files and folders> hidden files and folders> select show hidden files folders and drives.
It'll work if it is the same bug I got. On the files and folders will just be translucent icons.

what ever it is its showing hard drive cluster issues,critical errors, no hd free space ram memory is low keeps telling my is removed a trojin

What version of Windows do you have? If you have XP you might be able to recovery using the System Restore function.

Thanks all I tried every thing in the book and what every one suggested but to no avail so i did took the hit and did a total recovery.lost a few photos but computer now works.
