Should a CT/OT be initiated before, during, or upon completion of the target trades education requirement? I am currently a reservist considering a Reg F CT/OT.
Its already a long enough process with the education prereqs met. I wouldn't bother trying to apply until you have all your ducks in a row, remove as much work from D Mil C and CDA as possible.
Seeing how you won't find out who your broker is until they want to interview you it is a pain (but possible) to update your file as required. You also need to make sure your OR has it on your MPRR otherwise they won't know that you have it.
Seeing how CT priority is based on your application date If it is only going to be a few months (less than 3) I'd wait. If it is much longer than that I'd recommend that you just put it in and get the ball rolling. As PuckChaser said it is a long process.
I'm going to call my on Friday broker and ask about a similar scenario (I'll post the results here).

Careful with that one. The Education waiver is a pretty commonly done thing if the member has enough in trade experience, if you can PLAR across as "trained" with suffecient experience, and A degree (in the case of officers which is where my experience lies) you may be able to gain a waiver for the specific degreer equired, assuming you're not looking for something like Med Officer.
