I just reached the selection stage (woohoo!). However, I was a bit confused to see AERE still showing on my portal. My understanding was that if a trade is closed, you’re no longer considered for it and it wouldn’t appear as part of your selection.
Before I start overthinking things, could someone with some insight clarify whether this means I’m being considered for both trades once AERE reopens in April?
I heard from someone that if your career counsellor knows your preferences and you’re a good fit for a trade, they might keep your file in selection until that trade opens again. I’m taking that with a grain of salt, but I’m curious if anyone can confirm whether that actually happens.
PS: My recruiter knew that AERE was my preferred trade, but to keep my file moving and increase my chances, we switched AEC to my first priority.
