Debating news articles with the authors

Sorry this is not Tactics.

Many of the topics here are reviews of News articles, new Policy implementations, Political Appointments, etc. and many posts by members in the various boards have critiqued these various articles or policies.  Many of the authors of these articles and policies are lurking as guests here and sometimes take offence to what is written about them or their work.  Perhaps if they would come forward and defend what is being discussed, things could develop along even more productive lines and we could all benefit.  This is an open internet forum and censorship should not have to happen, and even when it does, original comments and posts remain out there in cyberspace.  New impressions are made, rightfully or wrongly, without both sides of the story.

So if you are lurking, and you take offence, take up the challenge and defend your point of view and/or statements.  They have been made in the Public Domain and as such are being discussed in a Public Domain.
