Bloody helll, and its only spring!

Yesterday it topped anywhere from 39-41C here in Bris-Vegas, than a fire decides to brake out in the local bushland, causing threats to property in near by Keperra and The Gap. Then the fire jumps into the trg Area of Enoggera, and starting at 0330, it burned with a fury ingiting every blank and other stuff which goes 'bang' until daybreak.

This am on Bribie Island ( 70km NW of Brissy, and where I live) www.bribie.com.au at 0530h it was already 26C, so by 0900 it was 35C here in Enoggera, and now at 1100h, well I don't wanna know. The smoke is as thick as, with the fire is less than 700 metres from our HQ bldg right NOW! a big fire at that.

Tonight when I get home, its into the pool where the water temp is 29C (this am at 0530h anyways - it will be warmer by tonight), and thats not heated, with the exception of the sun!

Bring on the weekend! Temps will continue to be 36-39C along the water and well into the 40s inland. I think acool beer is in order.

With all this heat, it will drive the creatures out of the bush into the base, and at home I have seen some huge dragons (6 footers) dead on the road and two huge carpet phytons also road kill.

I told Nancy we'll be keeping out garage doors closed now, and the screen doors too, as we don't want any uninvited guests slithering and/or crawling inside - we already have our fair share of inside 'domesticated' (avoid levels of cat jumping height as our two Siamese cats consider them both a trophy and a delicasy) rather large well fed barking geckos, who eagerly feed on the sometimes 'hissing' roaches who sneak in, plus the huge huntsman spiders who too earn their rent by taking their share of other insects.

Cheers,

Wes

Uhhh Wes.....
you complaining or bragging? :)

Right now, having a whinge, but I must fess-up and say that I do love the weather here compared to dear ole Saskatchewan, yet I miss that place more than I think.  ;D

Cheers,

Wes
