Detachment from R Irish Regt

Shifty little green bastards! At least none of you guys have vicious, deadly Koala's!
Look at him, sitting up there, plotting his next attack. Deadly little buggers they are.

Good luck badger, i was in Pet for about 3 months with the RCD's. Had the time of my life...Pet makes you truely appreciate having a life actually. As long as that life is outside Pet.

Good luck from one Irish Australian,
Eamonn

Badger - I didn't know the Home Service battalions of the RIR were considered "Regular" - I know they were full time but you only served on your own doorstep. I thought you went Regular if you joined the 1st Bn?

Badger if this falls through and you do get sent to “The Rock” could you hunt down this ape for me. He stole my mars bar when I was there a few years back, as well as this poor woman's keys I think.

His names Jeff Trotter and he lives in Portadown mate. He's a right Bastard he is! Hope he did'nt bite you, he's poison he is!

I transfered in from the regulars mate, then did 26 weeks training, then onto 8 weeks NCO's then 6 wks Deepcut where I did'nt kill myself. When you sign on, it's 22 years service man and boy. You don't have to go abroad but I and several hunderd have. We sent a coy to the both gulfs, training dets to Kosove, Sierra Leonne, Afganistan, Iraq, Jamaca etc etc. Also, it was the 'Home Service ' Bn's that won the only unit citation since Korea, The Conspicious Gallantry Cross, not the 1st Bn, but guess which CO wears the medal! I did my time on the front line in the 80's mucker and it's time to chill and I hope you Cannuks can help me do that! TA here I come!!!!
