Hey was just looking for some general info regarding the recruitment process for MP. I'm expecting it to be different than regular trades since you're in a position of authority and classified under the CCC as a police officer , was just wondering what would be different other than the fact that applicants have to attend the MPAC?

MP is a regular trade. All trades are "regular" except for pilot, but they are "special" in the short bus sense.

Positions of authority are not limited to the military police. Also, MPs are still military and authority or not, they have to behave as such.

IIRC, only the MPAC and the different education pre requisites are all that differs in the process.

MP applicants MUST have a full unrestricted drives licence plus provide a drivers abstract for review. MP's (NCM Reg F) are required to have  completed a police foundations or law and security college diploma (The recruiting center will have a list of acceptable courses) The process to get merit listed to be eligible for MPAC is the same, CFAT, Medical and interview except as noted above. The are processed as semi skilled due to the college training requirement and if merit listed may attend the Military Police Assessment Course (MPAC). If successful at MPAC they could be selected for enrolment.

Once they complete their BMQ they are promoted to Cpl and back paid to enrolment date minus LWOP. I do not believe they get their specialist pay as a MP until they complete their DP2 (QL 5).

Hmmm I spoke to a MCpl on the forces.ca website and he said I needed a G2 minimum... Did something change I'm not aware of? I'm not eligible to get my full G until Jan 2011  ???

I've got well over 4000 hours without an AESOP.

How many have you got without a Pilot?

When you paint that thing green, make it so it can hover, and cut the size down to a more elegant proportion let me know.

Stop into YVR some morning in the next couple of weeks, and I'll return the breakfast favour.

Back on topic. You may apply with your minimum G2 license BUT you will NOT be allowed to go on MPAC until you have a full unrestricted license. That was the last word I got from CFRG R7.  Thanks for the info I will ensure that this information gets to forces.ca on line recruiters.

Thanks for the info
So since I can't get my unrestricted until jan 2011 when do you suggest I put in my application? I just don't know how long it would take from the day I put my app in until the day I get to MPAC assuming I pass all necessary testing.

You can start you process as early as you like however I would suggest late Sept or mid October to ensure all is ready for when you get the license.
