Could someone please give me directions to the uplands air terminal (departure) coming from the east 417?
Is it pretty straight forward once you get there or is it a maze?

Thanks

Thanks mate, great link.

Ever been there? I was wondering if the terminal is pretty straight forward of if it's like NDHQ and I'll have to wander around for 2 hours trying to find where the departures go.

Dude last time I was there was in grade 5 when I flew out east to the rock so I've got no idea.

Are you going to meet someone or get on a flight?  Usually all boarding and deplaning is done at the International Terminal.  Uplands is only a few hundred metres away, but most of the hangars are all torn down, except for the VIP Arrivals hangar.  Most, if not all, military traffic passes through the Ottawa International Terminal.

George, departing for Texas with the 0308 crew.
I was told that it was the uplands terminal which struck me as odd as well.

Is it a military flight (a-la-Airbus), chartered, or just a regular flight?

I'm just throwing it out there, but if it is a military service flight (or perhaps even chartered), they may not be going through the Ottawa International Airport, but rather one of the last hangers that DND still owns/uses. (Perhaps why it is being referred to as the "Uplands Air Terminal" as opposed to the Ottawa International Airport)

Maybe you want to clarify it with your unit or maybe contact your local Air Movements Section?

And if you can't get through to your unit, try calling CFSU (O) at 613-996-1044. Should be able to let you know which hangar, and how to get there.

Get onto Hunt Club.  Turn on Canadair Private.  The hangar is the second one (of two) on the right.  It's Hangar 11.  It's a typical hangar, with the departure lounge/area on the far side.  If there is a flight leaving, there will likely be a table set up in the hangar for you to check in.  There is also a Commissionaire at the door.

I took the Xmas service flight from there this year and had the same questions.  Turned out to be pretty easy to find.
