Hello,

I have applied online last Friday with my friend. Today he got a confirmation email from the forces but I still have not. I went to check up my application status and I notice that I need 2 reference letters and also Signed Employment Application Form.

In the work/volunteer section of the online application, I put that I volunteered for my school as an orientation leader for first year students. There was an application process but I just had to go through an interview. Since I was not technically employed do I still need to bring the signed employment form? And what exactly is that?

Also for the letters of reference, can one of them be from my partner who was leading with me?

Thanks.

Does your school have a student's union who is in charge of orientation personell? If so I would request a copy of your application form, as they should (?) have it on file. Is this your only past work experience? I would imagine you could also get those who were in charge of you to write a formal statement stating you were volunteering for them.

For character references, I'm pretty sure the application states specifically who is NOT entitled to provide a reference letter for you, so if you partner doesn't breach any of those guidelines, it should be fine. However, is there anyone else who could provide a reference for you? Did you play any sports or such in highschool? Possibly a coach or a teacher? Did you have any superiors when you volunteered for your school's orientation. A reference from someone who was in charge of you can hold more merit, as they would have direct knowledge of your performance.

If your CFRC is within distance you could go in and ask the staff in person I would suggest that would get you the most informed answers, even phoning them.

Hope this helps.
