Do recruiters get mad if I phone every week?

Hey, I'm new to this forum, i could not find any forum related to this one..

I'm very anxious, I've been waiting 3 months so far for an infantry position to become available,
my buddy that's in the army right now said he called every week before he got hired to see were his application status was at.
My question is.. do recruiters care if you call every week to see if your occupation is available yet? Or do they not mind?

Last thing I want to do is annoy them

Thanks in advance!

C.G.R gave a very good suggestion if you'd like a definitive answer as to what your file manager thinks is appropriate.

In my opinion, I feel every week might be excessive. I'm not sure which CFRC is yours, but mine is Hamilton.  Although my file manager has always been polite and easy to speak to, I know he is very busy managing several applicants besides me.  I understand anxiousness, but 3 months isn't very long compared to several others.  There's nothing wrong with wanting an update to see how things are moving along, or if you have some specific questions that came to mind. But remember there are many others in the same boat as you.

No.

They love it. It shows you're keen.....(insert sarcasm here.)

About once a month would be about it.
