Dreaming

Have you ever thought about something so much that you start dreaming about it, sometimes putting things in perspective? In this case, about the whole recruiting process and possibly eventually getting accepted?

I had a dream last night (well, early this morning considering I went to bed at 4am) where I was with my derby mates and rocky horror cast mates (doing Rocky Horror for the next few nights) in a troop drill inspection on this gym or hangar size stage (similar where I did air cadets way back when, minus stage) squaring off against other troop drill formations like a drill competition.

At some point, we started doing a combination of the timewarp and thriller, and the opposing drill formation did some kind of choreography dance I do not recognized. Then there was one on one drill slash dance choreography (like what hillary duff did in this movie where she is attending that military academy). Eventually we were place in attention and some inspection,  placed at ease, and then dismissed.

This officer came up to me and ask me random questions how I know my drill (air cadets, also first time dreaming of doing drill in years) and such, mentioned I was going through the application process, just waiting for the medical which is taking forever. Then he identified as being one of the medical high ups in Ottawa approving medical files, and mentioned he passed it or put in high regard (?). I asked then why was it not sent back to the RC yet, and then he hinted it is placed on hold or delay due to some consideration being done because of something personal which has no impact on my health or fitness or ability to do the job, yet still an issue.

I nearly exploded into a rant about it, and then quickly stopped, apologized, explaining in short that it is frustrating. Saluted, left, and went the weird change room wondering if I have time to take a shower before heading off to some volunteering and later Rocky Horror again.

Yes, I get some of the weirdest crossover dreams...

Are you under the influence of some sort of pharmaceuticals?

Mine involved chasing a roadrunner in the Nevada desert and falling off cliffs and living to tell the tale...but then i stopped taking the Mefloquine

No, I was not on drugs, nor drunk. Just really tired combined with an overactive imagination. I get crazy weird dreams like this since I was little to the point I do not get nightmares anymore.

I am sure some of you had crazy dreams, especially related to what is going on in life, without being under the influence of something.

You can never share them except with friends who experienced the life that you did. Just put a cordon of yellow tape around them with others.

Now lets not be judgmental there Mario.

Mellion just because oh 99% of the world's population may be reluctant to share their nocturnal musings and fantasies er dreams with complete strangers on the Internet is no reason for you not to. Post away, every detail, I'll go and clear server space if needed.

You go girl.  8)

Yes that's for sure, but at least its one post of yours. that we can all believe and agree on.

Really depends on the dream, and I do not share really personal ones except to close friends or acquaintances. I have had a lot of crazy dreams not related to life that it would be silly to keep to myself.

If I bothered to write, some of those dreams would make interesting stories.

I think about having relations with twins and on occasion I do have that dream. It really does put things into perspective. It would be awesome.

Beyond fantasies and weird/twisted dreams, the sort of dreams one can get, in my experience anyway, can provide interesting experiences one never had in their life before, what it would be like if circumstances are different, how one relates to other people, provide possible solutions to a problem or remind you of a problem or person or thing that you have been neglecting, etc. Also helps determining overall emotional and physical state, like dreams where I am solving a puzzle or fighting a battle or such whenever I am sick and the body working on fighting it off.

Yet sometimes can be annoying by setting off your bodies adrenaline or/and endorphins. Like dreaming of waking by someone trying to break into my apartment, so I go investigate and see a stranger getting through the door, so gut reaction got to run for the drawer to take out a knife. Then I wake up, but because I am still in that mode and gut reaction, I quickly get out of bed, out of my room and move towards the drawer only to see no one got through the door. Then takes me a couple of hours to properly calm down before being able to fall asleep again.

Did you hear the one about the guy who married a twin? Within a year he wanted a divorce. When the judge asked why, he said that sometimes he made love to the sister by mistake. The judge said surely there must be a difference between the two? The guy says, "Yes there is. That's why I want the divorce!"
:)
Note: Sorry if my earlier reply to Mellian came off as judgmental. It wasn't meant to be.  :)

I had a dream about Megan Fox.. than I woke up with wet sheets..    ;D

Nice!

My most frequent dream involves me "flying". Typically it starts off by me running somewhere, jumping, and just taking a heck of a lot longer to accelerate downwards than I should. Eventually, I'm able to jump off of tall buildings and such and glide for quite a while. Once in a while, I don't wake up too soon, and am able to actually direct my flight while in mid-air.

Wow.  Two things we agree on in one day.  I gotta go buy a lottery ticket!

Mellian, it almost sounds like you are getting towards lucid dreaming.  When you are in one of your dreams, can you make a conscious effort to guide it or change the direction of where it is going.
It must be wild to have such an active subconscious!  ;D
