Hey Guys, I am looking to put together a little performa for dvr/gibs with little things that will make the job easier. So far I have included most Reports and returns, Hide/Harbour Drills, OP Drills, Veh State, Notice to move states, Weapons states, and the 16 Steps to Battle Procedure. Anything else you guys can recommend. Thanks for the help!

Someone should tell the schools that.

Every Corps course I've taken, at the school(s), have provided SOPs, to ensure all students are on the same page. They closely mirror Regt'l\Sqn ones in most cases. The Corps is not new to this game. I can't speak for other trades.

Thanks for the info. All we have kicking around at the regiment is the Patrol Commanders Performa. I am on tasking with the school so i'll ask the Course staff if they have any SOP's or performas for drivers. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow, things have changed since I left the Sqn then (fall 2001).  We had Reg't SOPs, Sqn SOPs, and then each Tp had SOPs (reviewed each year, usually in Sept/Oct), each Ptl had SOPs and CC were encouraged to have Crew SOPs.

Whatever you come up with, if you are doing it for Recce Sqn back in the Island, make sure you send it up the CoC for approval.

If the Sqn is lacking in SOPs at this time, that should wake up a few people to get some friggin' Sqn and Tp SOPs hammered out.

Good grief.  I heard things have gone *downhill* back home but...how bad is it??

It's a little rough back home. The Regiment has been kicked but we're starting to get back on our feet now. Suffering a major shortage at all leadership levels. Will take your advice and send up the CoC for approval. I was sort of creating a performa from some PAMs and lessons.

I have no doubt there are members in PEI that have the required material.  Ya just gotta ask the right people.  I bet either Maj (AT or SW) could easily find what you are looking for.  You may want to ask your Sgt's first.

Tell Dave Corney or Kevin Trainor to dig down deep into their Kit Bags and pull out some SOPs for you.  If they can't then try others like Terrance McGaughty, one of the Francis brothers, Charlie Thomas, etc. There are enough people in the Regt to do so for you.  They also have contacts at the School whom they may be able to use to get you some of the Basic Crewman skills and templates in Lesson Plans.  All of the things that you seek should be in either the Training Office or the OPs Office.  If you can't find them there, try the Regimental Museum.  I am sure Mr Arsenault has copies hidden away somewhere.  Heck; if I dig deep into one of my boxes of collected and acquired/issued 'artifacts' and 'effects' I could probably come up with all these items.  No need to reinvent the wheel.

Ask the RQ about any SOP books kicking around. I know when I left the Regiment in 2004 Most Crew Commanders had one. If you can get your hands on one you can hash out SOP's from that But to quote Eye in the Sky He Taught and enforced the SOP's for 43 troop He must of got them from somewhere.

It has been a while....how did Island Trooper make out with this issue?  Anyone, Anyone, Bueler?
