Truer words have never been spoken, hahah.

Some people love Knee Pads, some people hate them, but very very few people will wear the issued ones.

soo as a reservist how would i get a pair of these... they were not issued to me in my kit

Go to stores and request them, and if they say you aren't entitled to them then talk to your unit CQ.

Or...buy some.

Good knee pads are a solid investment.  Elbow pads on the other hand are a 'so-so' item.  Granted, they do help with respect to reducing bashing your elbows all up, but given that the only time they're used is when you're firing in the prone position, the amount you use them is often times not worth their weight, and more so the bulk/discomfort that wearing them for long periods of time creates.

Some good kneepad recommendations:
Alta
Arc'Teryx Kneecaps
KP Industries

Cheers,

Matt

I noticed you only enrolled a week or so ago...

Don't worry about knee pads yet.

Finish your basic training before you spend money on kit you may or may not need. You won't need them for basic. They aren't really required for SQ either, though might not hurt to have.

I picked up a pair for SQ from the local Play it Again Sports.  Yes they can save your knees but they also tended to get in the way alot more.
