NLM is part of the growing neo-Satanist / nihilistic ecosystem. Ideologically they’ve emerged out of the ‘Order of Nine Angles’ ideological extremist movement. Basically they’re a ‘burn society down so that a superior form of humanity can emerge from the ashes’ movement. There are a lot of loosely affiliated groups along these lines and the names change a lot, but NLM and their ilk are pretty horrendous.

This, from The Canadian Press:
And where's the Online Harms Act bits dealing with child exploitation at right now?

And coupled with this, today from CBC and focusing more on the radicalization side:

The online sexual exploitation / extortion and online ideological radicalization are NOT completely separate and distinct from each other. There’s a lot of this self-contained within kids and youths where they self-sustain through cycles of victims becoming victimizers.

Dr. Marc-André Argentina is probably the most knowledgeable guy for this stuff in Canada and one of the best in the world. A good primer from last May can be found here: When 'Community' Means Cruelty: An Introduction to the Criminal Networks and Behaviors of The Community, Comm, Com, and 764

An update from September including mention of a real-world murder is here: Nihilism and Misanthropy Unleashed: The 764 Network and No Lives Matter's NEW Ideological Manifesto and the Hässelby Attack

This is real stuff police are currently struggling to deal with. It’s this screwed up overlap between child sexual abuse, extortion, and actual ideologically motivated violent extremism. Argentino’s site has a lot more for anyone really curious.

To any parents out there: if your kid has Telegram messenger on any of their devices, HUGE red flag. Particularly if it’s coupled with the Discord app.

We had a prior thread covering some of this stuff back in the fall that would be a logical merge.

Just stumbled on this from a few days ago. A youth in Alberta has been charged with terrorism, promotion of hatred, and child sexual abuse material offences. This is related to the 764 network. I believe this is the first time Canada has charged terrorism for this stuff. The U.S. has recently started using the interesting term “nihilistic violent extremism”, which I think fits this general trend reasonably well.

I ven in the absence of details the combination of charges - terrorism, promotion of hatred, and CSAM stuff - paint a pretty horrific picture.

The whole sexual thing is not surprising. Media in Europe have been reporting that Muslims have been raping women in Europe for years.

Rape is a weapon of war - lets not forget that.

This stuff has nothing to do with religion- see a few of my posts upthread for some summary on this particular form of youth radicalization. The CSAM is more about trophy hunting and extortion than anything else.

It takes a lot for me to look at something and say “that’s fucked up”, but…

ah, the benefits of AI. The technology has been unleashed and there is no clawing it back. There are a lot of benefits but they probably don't outweigh the harm that will be caused.

What AI are you talking about? This stuff is all real people, both perpetrators and victims, almost all very young, many minors.

use of AI to create the games and the characters personalities that are in them. It also identifies the vulnerable and is available 24/7 to talk with them. It is possible, in some cases, that the perpetrator is live on line but that would only be after the candidate has been hooked by the electronics. Even in this case, the teen in jail didn't come up with these thoughts on his own; they were planted and nurtured. In some respects he is as much a victim as the children he assaulted and no, I don't have any sympathy for him or his parents who should have been watching.
