I really hate to ask this but the more research I do the more confused I get...

Applying for the reserves do you or do you not have to go through and pass the EXPRES test as part of the application process... there are places that I've been referred to on this website that say no, and some say yes, and I am wondering which it was... The only thing I can think is that the test was required, then it wasn't for a couple years, but then is now, again, required... Is that the case?

I really hate making a new thread asking this question but a lot of the links in the sticky and super threads are extremely old, out of date, or not even functional anymore so not quite sure where we are currently as far as that is concerned...

Thanks in advance,

Murb

Reservists must pass the Expres test prior to being selected. You can do the medical, the interview, and all the forms etc and it wont move until youre PT test is complete.

Like me. I was selected and found suitable but until I had a chance to do the test it sat to the side until it was completed. Once done the unit contacted me to swear in. But it wasnt going to happen until the PT test was finished.

Ive read your posts about your fitness. You shouldnt be applying until you are in shape and are unconcerned with your ability to pass your PT test.

Generally, where I am, all the testing was done in one day- I just didnt have the opportunity to do my Express test for some unrelated commitments.

Murb;

Adding on to Container's comment, why not take a look at this newest CF Express Test Manual: https://www.cfpsa.com/en/AboutUs/PSP/DFIT/Fitness/Documents/CF%20Expres%20Manual_Eng_July_FINAL_2012.pdf

Hopefully this can give you some insight on how the Express Test is run and what is to be expected. This .PDF covers a wide area of subjects in the testing process.

It definitely helped me. Hope this helps and good luck!
