America dad's pilot is slated to premiere right after the superbowl but the rest of the season will not start airing until may 1 2005
And when It comes to the wait I'm glad to see may 1st it beats the early rumors of fall 2005 premiere

Well Fox likes to premiere new shows for the summer, when all the other networks are showing repeats (although they're starting to get away from that).
I doubt Fox will cancel family guy this time around, unless of course it sucks. Although i suspect that the show is going to be much tamer now thanks the Chrisitan taliban in the US....

IIRC the entire reason they are bringing it back is the amount of play in sindication and the sales of the DVD sets are through the roof. It took FOX a while to figure that the Neilson ratings don't really mean jack.

Anyway...good to see it's coming back.
As for American Dad....looks a bit interesting....

That and Futurama. Cancel the Simpsons. That pony needs to be taken out back. Such a shame too. Up until about two or three years ago it was still good. Now, the Simpsons is a bore, and I no longer watch any of the ones from this millenium. Futurama was always new and innovative, yet they took that away and kept the clunker. I will never understand TV executives. I am praying Family Guy will be good.

What? You're crazy. Futurama was great. It was fresh and the characters were good. I still watch the re-runs whenever I can. I agree, sitll keep on playing the old ones of Simpsons, but destroy some of the newer ones. I mean, come on. I recently read that Groening wants to keep them going a while longer. : . I still remember the lines of a clip show several seasons ago, "...have no fears, we've got stories for years...". No, apparently not.

Yes i agree with all of you. I think The Simpsons need to retire and so does Malcom in the Middle for that matter. It was once a show I used to watch as often as humanly possible, but alas its time has also come to be taken out back...

Futurama was a different type of humour than Family guy and the simpsons for that matter. Some people got, some people didn't.
Family guy was great, but you have to admit, a lot of the jokes are pretty well, rudimentary... and thats what makes the show so perfect.
what killed Futurama was it's time slot. I still don't understand why fox insists on having comedy shows during the 1900 Sunday timeslot as they ALWAYS get preempted by the NFL.
As for the Simpsons, Matt Groening, he has become a figurehead of sorts, as far I as understand he only goes into the office once a month and looks over some stuff, perhaps give an idea or two. The guy who runs the show now is Al Jean, who was one of the first exec producers on the show - he and Mike Riess later came up with the Critic, another show that died a premature death.

Well...American Dad was on after the bloody Super Bowl....
Not bad...some really good laughs....especially with the fish (can't remember it's name)
Hope it'll be around for a while, or at least until we realise it sucks

I'll admit it wasn't as good as Family Guy, but it was still fairly good.
