I get to feeling that corrasion related to excess spray will be an issue. I also suspect that the sea keeping is good up to a certain wave height and then worse than a traditional bow.

They did trials and she's better that a lot of other hull forms up to sea state 7. Less slamming and slower bobbing into oncomming seas. Any higher than that and you're probably running away. 8 is when you reach the point that the atheists are praying just a little bit.

I was looking at this ship last night and thinking about how it would play into a CDC comparison. I think its too high end for what we are looking at but has some very interesting design features and some slick build techniques.

Just spitballing here.
I know that the CDC is still very much fluid and may in fact not occur, but, could there be a scenario where the Kiwi's might partner with us is building them 6-8 of these? The extra ice capabilities would be a benefit to them and the use of CMS would be as well. Just throwing something against the barn door and seeing what sticks.

Kiwi's likely won't partner, they will buy, but.... they do use the same CMS as us and like you said long range, ice resistance is of interest to them.

They did inquire for the CDC program I have heard but that doesn't mean too much. They are also looking at the T31 and Mogami options. Those legitimately might be to much ship for their navy to handle, hence their interest in CDC.

Here is my post of April 10, in the CDC thread:

If anyone is interested, here's a very nice visit to the first French Defense and Intervention Frigate, the FNS Amiral Ronarc'h in operations sea trials. One of the very interesting feature is the Asymetrical Warfare Operations Center, aft of the bridge, which provides 360 degrees camera surveillance in daylight, low-vis (IR) and night time and centralizes the control of all anti-drone or surface small vessels defense, including high power strobe lights, Ultra sound guns and remote controled small calibre guns.

Unfortunately, it is a French Tv show, so only available in French.
