Follow up interviews

I have recently been booked for a follow up interview for my Component transfer from the naval reserve to reg force army/artillery. I have been in the process for my transfer for about over two years, waiting patiently. My file mamanger says I am ready to go, I just need a spot to open. I was told me I am in a category labelled "unskilled/DEO" and I have been scheduled for a follow up interview this week. Do not know if I should look at it as a good thing or if I am being put through the procedures?

I am just looking for feedback as similar stories and positive attitudes.

Look on it as a good thing, it seems increasingly that the Recruiting approach is to stop processing files when there are no vacancies expected to be able to move people forward. If nothing else, you'll be one step further along in your process.

Thank you very much for the input, I guess I am just expressing my transferring woes and experiencing bouts of paranoia. Just being in the process for 2 years, I just feel like the offer will never come.

With follow up interviews, are they basically just to explain updates or changes that have occurred in the past year? Or will it be more like the initial applicant meeting?

That's a good question. You'll have to tell us how it goes once you're done. I expect it'll be a two-way conversation, an opportunity for you to update the CFRC on your situation, and for them to bring you up to date on your process while they confirm that you're being merited appropriately based on having accurate information about you.

INTETRVIEW WENT GREAT AND THE CAPTAIN INTERVIEWING ME IS RECOMMENDING ME. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE ENOUGH SPOTS FOR A DEO OFFICER!

Sorry, just been in this for over 2 years now and getting excited, supposedly the careers managers are meeting together this month for selections. Please have room for a DEO unskilled applicant!
