The ISAF/CA Collectable Coin

This coin is dedicated to the soldiers of all nations participating in the International Security Assistance Force mission in Afghanistan, but with special recognition for Canadian Forces personnel stationed in Kandahar.

The front of this coin features a relief map of Afghanistan done in 3d superimposed over a list of the 42 nations that have contributed to the International Security Assistance Force mission. The coin's edge has the motto of the ISAF, "Help and Cooperation", in English, French, Dutch, and Pashto, the official language of Afghanistan.

The back of the coin has a Canadian Flag and the initials ISAF in the centre and the text: "If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them" around the edge.

Each coin has a unique tracking number engraved on the back.  Anyone interested in the hobby of geocaching can use this tracking number to track the coin at www.geocaching.com.

Custom Engraving

Instead of a tracking number, you may choose to have the coin custom engraved with your name, short message, or unit abbreviation (maximum of 8 characters).  You may order as many or as few as you wish, but I will need a minimum of 150 total orders to have the coin minted.

Two dollars from the sale of every customized coin will be donated to the Halifax and Region Military Family Resource Centre.

Cost

Trackable coin: $9.00
Customized coin: $7.50 ($2.00 to go to FMRC)

Note to moderators:  Mike Bobbitt has given me permission to post this thread.  Thanks!

I have received a lot of orders for the customized coin, but still less than a third of the 150 I would need to send the order to the mint.  It's not looking like this coin will be ready for Christmas.

I am not giving up on this venture though.  If orders keep coming in, I will get this coin minted when we reach the 150 threshold.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Cheers,
Chuck

The customized version of this coin will be going to the mint next week!  If you are interested in getting a customized ISAF/CA coin, please get your order in ASAP!
