FY2015 Armour officer no slots?

Dear all,

I recently visited the London recruiting centre, and was told by a recruiter I was speaking to that there are going to be no new armoured officer positions for fiscal year 2015. He was checking a clipboard with a spreadsheet of some sort. This seems to contradict the forces.ca website, which shows the job as "Now Hiring" (according to the FAQ, a job with the "Now Hiring" tag is open for FY2015).

Could any other recruiters please chime in and clarify this? I am extremely interested in becoming an armoured officer.

Thank you for your interest in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The Armoured Officer positions available are for the Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) only. If you are interested in getting a degree through the Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) you can apply for Armoured Officer under the ROTP program. The deadline for ROTP senior has passed, but you can still apply for the ROTP junior program until 31 March 2015. Unfortunately we are not hiring Direct entry Officers (DEO) at this time.

I have submitted my application for the Armed Forces anyways, but without DEO armour officer as one of my preferred trades.
