Gaia Will Be Tickled

Wow! Can this be adapted to fit at the base of trees? Here in the St. Lawrence valley, our trees are almost always swaying in the wind. Not only do they not kill birds, they actually house them!

But the technology is cool. I love the notion of vibrations to electricity.

I dispute the "no moving parts" bit. Vibrating parts move at high frequencies and eventually fail. Just like trees in a gale.

Still a cool idea though.

I guess Skydo or Skildo didn't catch on.

The problem I am understanding with this technology is scalability. The First Law of Thermodynamics says you can't get a lot of electrical energy out of a little mechanical energy. There have been lots of ideas over the years, like piezoelectric roads and sidewalks (electrical energy from mechanical stress) but they have always failed for economic viability.

Good that folks keep trying, though.

Scalability is less important than marketability if you are chasing an IPO.
