I've probably put this in the wrong place. I haven't had much patience for BBs since the early '90s. (But I do remember learning The Law: the poster who first refers to Hitler or the Nazis has lost the argument. First corrollary: shut down any thread after three responses beyond the reference to H & co., as those first three responses will cover all useful arguments.)
Anyway, I wandered in here to say I wish y'all well, and hope you come home safe. And thanks for your service.
Having lived in the Middle East for a couple of years, I don't believe there will be a solution any time soon. And I'm not sure us (Canada/the gov't) stationing troops there will end well. But from what I saw, I don't think there is a 'better' solution. I think the mission is worth trying, although I'm not the guy at the pointy end of the stick who has to eat it up, if my theory is wrong.
I hope all of you have the courage to tell the rest of us when we're wrong. None of us is sure risking your lives is the right thing to do. Wish like hell I had a better solution.

ps. and after reading a couple of the threads on cdn politics, I may stick around and read some more. If nothing else this is a more interesting bb than I've read in a while.
