Also the Brit.Gov. just opened up document‘s from WW2 were the Brit‘s had set up small cell‘s of civie‘s to take the war to the German‘s if they invaded the U.K.
They explain the duties and task‘s, a very interesting read.

Thanks DA for adding the formal legal definitions. I had them somewhere but was too lazy to look them up.

Good point about the lack of uniforms/arm bands re guerilla forces.

Technically this would have made many Viet Cong units guilty of this specific violation. The infamous black pyjamas they wore were not per say a uniform but rather a traditional (and functional) form of dress for the region and populace as a whole.
