Kettlebells are weights that look like bowling balls with handles. working out with them is supposed to give you "usefull and explosive strength". apparently they‘re really popular in eastern europe, especially in the military and in olympic training gyms.
after the fall of the USSR, a guy named Pavel Tsatsouline moved to the US and took his Kettle Bells with him. using his reputation as a former Spetsnaz drill instructor he began marketing his K-Bells and is now working for Dragon Door Publications. he advertises his exercises with testimonials from the US SF community and SWAT teams. a few months ago, a friend of my brother‘s got the rights to sell Kettlebells in Canada. I‘ve been thinking of buying a set, but i‘m not willing to invest my hard earned cash just yet.
has anyone here ever used Kettlebells? do you know anyone who has? i think it could cost me between $100 - $200 a set. are they worth the money?
P.S. Pavel‘s marketing is pretty funny. he plays the tough-*** commie thing well, advertising "Extreme fitness for hard living comrades" and "From Russia with Tough Love"
