Weird enough question... But here it goes!

Firstly, I'm new to the community and I see you guys really got a good thing goin' with Army.ca! I'm in highschool and considering a career in the CF. I'm about 6'6" right now and still growing. Firstly, How tall is the tallest CF member you've known? Secondly, Could a surplus of height make me ineligible for certain trades?  :-\

Thanks,
Brock

When I was going through basic, there was a member who was well over 7 ft. So don't worry about that. I've also met a Dragoon who was nearly 7 ft tall as well. There's also a Royal I know who's close to (or even above) the 7ft level.

I don't know if it precludes you from certain trades, but it obviously won't be the Infantry or Armoured.

I have to disagree. I think that an overly tall person might find mechanized infantry or armoured somewhat uncomfortable after a while. That being said, if it's what you want, then go for it. The only occupation that has a size limitation is likely pilot. One has to be able to fit into the cockpit, and not get killed during an ejection. Being too tall might make either of those difficult.

Performing a quick search by using google and typing "army.ca height restrictions" I found these two threads which could help to answer your question. However, as always, the best answers will be provided by your nearest CFRC. [You can even online chat with a recruiter Monday-Thursday from 12pm-4pm Eastern time on www.forces.ca]. Being a viewer of this website for awhile now I have seen that people tend to become rather displeased with those who fail to perform a quick search for topics related to their question. I am not one of these people, but still please keep it as a reminder for next time.

Yeah... I diddn't think to Google. I kinda' just searched in the "logical" threads and I diddn't see too much.
Thanks for the info and I hope I NEVER reach 7'!!!

Hey man coming from a 5'9 individual I wish I was blessed with that height! Anyways if you do reach 7' there may be a career in basketall for ya.  :P

A tale of caution. I taught a giant on a BMQ once.

While coming from my stubby-self, anyone over 6 ft is a giant, but this fellow was definitly 6'6" or bigger.

He stepped out of a port-a-potty one day, and complained to one of his course-mates he was having difficulty getting the chin strap on his helmet done up after removing it in the port-a-potty.

"Why don't you just leave your helmet on?"
"I can't stand up in the port-a-potty with it on, so I take it off and lay it in the sink..."
".... that's not a sink..."
"What?"
"It's a urinal..."
"WHAT?"
