Hello, I was watching some Canadian Army News and i noticed that some of the helmet covers have a yellowish tint to it.
I thought it was just the camera, fading or even my own computer

anybody know why?

Were they TW cadpat? Because some of them just have a yellowish tint. The light green looks almost yellow.

I don't know why it happened, but my cover also has the light green being yellowish. It must have been a different dye lot than the CADPAT TW combats, as the helmets were released in 1998, and the CADPAT clothing starting in late 01/ early 02.

There's been multiple changes to the dye process since the introduction of cadpat... particularly the elimination of premature fading... what's awesome is when you occasionally get a shirt or pair of pants made of mixed lots of fabric... everything is one colour, except for say a single pocket, which is yellow, or elbow reinforcement on a sleeve which fades long before everything else....

I have a full set of yellow CADPAT. It looks awful, but I'll wear it and wash it till it fades and I can get a proper set.

LSVWs scare me, what can I say?  :crybaby:

Are you sure it isn't the so called Center of Excellence across the highway?

Thats probably a better reason.

The should be no brownish tint to ACU's that employ the Universal Camoflauge Pattern. They were made up on Grey,Tan and Green. The ACU Multicam uses Brown, Green, Black and Tan. So you must have seen a US Multicam helmet cover. The Brits also use Multicam as the camoflauge pattern for their uniforms, instead of the DPM variations.

Unless it was the short lived UCP-D which was the regular UCP you described but with brown added in.

I saw a few 101st guys with that...they didn't seem to care for it. Also saw a few 101st guys with the MultiCam. Must have been different regiments or companies....
