Hello, i just went down to the recruiting office, and signed up for the infantry reserves, but i have a problem. I can't be gone for thr whole summer, or long periods, due to family and relationship complications. i wanted and to my understanding, i was sposed to do training during the school year, and work close to home? but they want me up in GageTown, (for 10 weeks) is there anyway to brake up my training? into smaller groups so i can do my training and be close to home?

i would be joing the 36 combat battalion (Halifax N.S)

I really need some help guys and gals, i've been wanting to do this for years, but i cant be away from my family right now due to complications, please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank's

Jordan.

If you've been course loaded, I would assume you already belong to a Unit.

Those are the people you have to go talk to. Your Chain of Command (CoC).

There is not one single thing that anyone here can do for you unless they can insert themselves into your Unit's operations.

Go to your Unit and talk to them.

It is possible to do your Basic in the fall on the weekends, but again, that's up to the Unit you're going to be with.

But what i'm asking is my training be broken down? my paper work still as not gone through, that's the just ill be places into.

No.  you need to choose going away with the military for that period of time or staying with your family for the complications.

It is possible to do your Basic in the fall on the weekends, but again, that's up to the Unit you're going to be with. You have to talk to them and the RC and see if that's acceptable.

It's not normal to start a full time summer serial, stop part way through and then continue on weekends in the fall.

You'll have to go ask the two entities already identified.

Perhaps you should wait until your personal matters are sorted out before joining. The military isn't the best place to be if you cannot be away from home.

And perhaps weekend training in the fall will work for the OP in this particular case.  Not everyone can commit to full summers, every summer.  Perhaps this time next year the OP's situation might be different.

Every situation is different, and recceguy has the proper starting solution in this case.

That is considering his unit is even offering weekend courses.
