I just found milnet, this is cool. I have been trying to establish a blog for Canadians about our mission in Afghanistan. Since the CBC isn't giving us a full look at the whole mission and the Government hasn't been doing briefings nationally I chose to try to spread the word. In my profile is the blog link. Can someone in Afghanistan check it out and let me know what they think ... as far as accuracy is concerned and the way it is presented. Thank you.

I also want to update it so I need to check on some differing news reports here on one matter in particular. It is in the public realm here and want make sure of my facts before I use the information in my blog.

The blog is also open to all feel free to check it out.      Good night all and may our Lord keep you all well.     :cdnsalute:

Seeing as you are open to a critique of your blog, there are a few glaring problems:

Oue mission in Afghanistan has nothing to do with the U.S. and thats why they are trying to destroy our efforts there by using our national media outlet and speading disinformation through the mass media uninformed Canadians also through the mass media will likely do just that.

The US and Canada are tied at the hip. On 911, 24 Canadians were killed. Nuff said on that.

- Locals are called Afghans, Afghanis is the name of their currency.

- The US Administration does not want the mission to fail. Don't know where you got that feeling, seeing as the US is the major contributor of troops in country.

- NATO is in country and in charge, not the UN. The UN sanctioned the mission.

- The Governor General is not Michele Guy, her name is Michaëlle Jean.

Our creativity and innovative nature has also established a point position to help countries like Iraq to enter a new era for the betterment of the entire world.

Canada is not in Iraq. So many Canadians think we are thanks to the MSM.

Your blog is a generalization of what is going on and the politics surrounding it. However, it jumps from topic to topic without focusing on any single pertinent fact.

If you want to get the facts out, how about focusing on the stabilization ops being conducted. The PRT activities after Taliban have been routed out of a village. The Effort to train the ANA.

Regards

Lots of good stuff on this website: http://www.canada-afghanistan.gc.ca/ (I really think they should be publicizing it more ...)

Ty both Recce & Aden
your comments where most welcome Recce I corrected Michaëlle Jean's name and of all the times i mention the Afghans correctly i fixed the 1 time i misspelled it. You are right, we are not in Iraq we never were. I should state, I never did in the blog (something I really do feel bad about), but I have many American friends some of which, whose council I respect. Most of them had sent me their blessings on the blog, I emailed it to them and discussed it in an open chat before posting it. In fact they were happy with the fact I specified U.S. Administration and was not more general. 911 i do understand. thank you for the number and yes much since then has been a joint effort. Which again shows our whole hearted joint cooperation around the world. The comment on Iraq was just a remark to reflect the statement before on our innovative ability and how far it could reach. I fixed the wording there to.

and finally, yes it is a generalization of whats happening there and the politics involved that was deliberate. The links I provided show far more how this 3 part mission works and how inexplicably linked they are. The links are DND sites and provide far more detail on the PRT's, ANA training, Govt ops and mission coordination and teaching Government officials how to run a democracy, and the Military push to route the Taliban and Al`Queda insurgents. The detail they provide is far greater than I could possibly explain. Including interviews with locals and progress reports.

Aden i also used that link in the blog thank you very much. Yes the motivation for my blog hopefully it will embarrass both the CBC & Govt into tell all of us the truth  Do I have your permission to use these comments in the comments on blog citing your remarks as quotes

Hi. For those who read my blog I have changes I have to make in it as well as adding to it. As for the changes I feel I should apologize for some of my comments, one in particular. I don't like spreading bad information. The changes will be made this coming weekend. Thank you for your patience

have you thought about posting your blog on a different website that might get a few more hits or allow comments or feedback, possibly other blogers to add on?

ty .. yes I have but its slow going
next week I plan on sending it to the Honouable Ministers Peter MacKay and Stockwell Day, the PMO and Her Excellency the Governor General's Office, Global ... I think you get the idea. Word of mouth by those who like it has actual spread quite far already but i do want it reach far enough to rattle the CBC.

My boss saw the original copy he told me laughing one person can not change the world, you know the addage, I told him that it only takes one voice to start a choir.  Needless to say now he is scared of me  lol

After the corrections in it i want to send it in the e-mails to our men and women in Afghanistan ... a moral booster    that states we are getting the word out and to stay the coarse is best for all involved especially Afghanistan

Not alot of canadians in Canada support the war, or war period.
Theres several different view points people have about the war.
Either they like it, dont care, enjoy the coverage, sad about the war. To busy to give a shit, people disliking america- "Thinking this is a war about oil" etc etc etc.
