Canadians love their double-double.
But will they love the Double Down?
KFC is rolling out its infamous breadless chicken sandwich in all its gluttonous glory, to Canadians later this month.
“Ever since we launched the Double Down in the U.S., the phones have been ringing off the hook to bring it into Canada,” Dan Howe, the fast-food giant’s chief marketing officer, said. “People want to know where they can get it. When they found out its not available in Canada they wanted to know why. So we thought we’d bring it here for a limited time.”
The sandwich uses two boneless chicken fillets in place of the bun — then squeezes two pieces of bacon, two slices of processed pepper jack cheese and some sauce in between.
“Individually, they’re each delicious,” Howe said. “But putting them all together is epic. Just delicious.”
