How come CF entry requirements are "low" compared to other militaries?

I have checked up on some other countries' military entry requirements for physical fitness and they all have to do way more push ups, sit ups and run further in order to pass the minimum. Why is this? Not to brag or anything but the CF minimum entry requirements are kinda easy, especially when compared to the other militaries.

I find most to be in the same ballpark. Just tested in a different way.

We do Pushups until your pace changes. Americans do number of pushups in 2 minutes. The minimums are very similar.

I guess youd feel better if the minimum was high so you could barely pass if at all? Its a minimum for a reason. As in you can succeed if you bring this level of "fitness".

Minimums are a starting point.

And it will eventually be brought up that just meeting the bare minimum fitness standards will not get you very far in the CF. You will definitely have a tougher go then your fit course mates, or of course they will have a tougher time as a result of you.

Yeah that makes sense, 19 just seemed kinda low. I can pass the minimum but still want to improve further, especially on my running. If I compare what I can do now though to some other military "entry standards" I would be just meeting the minimum requirements

We still perform to the same level as all of these "other militaries", so I don't think that these minimum requirements are to much of a big deal. They are just to ensure that you have at least some physical capability before going to BMQ.

The CF Express test (which will be changed anyway) isn't all that low compared to some other militaries.  The RAAF fit test is a 2.4k run, pushups OR flexed arm hang, and crunches.

The numbers seem a little higher (for someone 30 years old, they are 11:30 for 2.4, 25 pushups or 40 sec on the hang, and 25 unsupported or 55 supported crunches) but when I did it, I found that the EXPRES test was actually more challenging since the CF is a "minimum" while the RAAF one stops as soon as you hit the target number.

Well the CF entrance fitness test technically stops when you hit the number too since it doesn't matter if you perform above the minimum. When I first joined I tried to do as many pushups as I could to try and look better but they stopped me after a while and said that will do. The fitness test on BMQ is a whole 'nother animal and is all about performing to your max, even though the numbers you put up don't really matter so much (as long as they're passing numbers).
