The world is changing - and unfortunately I can see where politics do get in the way of clarity of action. Even the Gulf War was confused by the messy politics of the Middle East - and instead of waging the war to defeat Saddam Hussein, the Allies merely liberated Kuwait - leaving the Kurds, and indeed, all of Iraq, to suffer under Hussein‘s rule.

I‘m not sure clarity of intention is something we can be assured of in this day and age either, no matter how desirable and necessary we may deem it.
