How long will the DEO waiver be processed normally?

I was informed by my case manager a few days ago that I have passed security screening and my case is in the process of DEO waiver, and then i will be informed of taking CFAT. I feel excited about this news, for I have been waiting for this result for 2 and half years. However, no one told me how long the DEO waiver process will take. I am worried about if I have to wait that long, like 1 or 2 years. Is there anyone who knows about this, I really appreciate your any idea.

Not sure exactly what you mean by waiver but I don't think you're going to get an exact answer on this one.  I applied in April and I wrote my CFAT before my security check was complete.  I am also applying DEO but to the reserves though.

Thanks for your reply. I don't understand the "waiver process" either, my case manager mentioned it on the phone. in fact, i took the test before the security screening, but the security check took as long as 2 years, so i was told to rewrite the test when the DEO waiver process is done. How's your current status?

I was told that if you don't score high enough for Officer on the CFAT but you have a degree you have to receive a waiver for DEO. If that applies to you, that might be it.  :)

I took the test in January, 2009, which was 87%. I don't know for sure if it was high enough or how much is the minimum of requirement for DEO? If you know about this, please advise. Thanks.

I had my physical, medical, and interview last Thursday.  Everything went well, just have to meet with an ENT specialist before I can get an offer.  I am applying for EME Officer.

I'm not sure. When I took the test in...2008...I think? They just told me that I qualified for every trade in the CF except Officer but because I was getting my degree it didn't really matter. When I spoke with the recruiting centre they said that they would have to request a waiver for me to get DEO because I did not score high enough in the CFAT for officer. It didn't matter in the end...I am more inclined to NCM.

You could always just give the RC a call and ask them what it's all about. It could be any number of things. Apparently I had a red flag on my file because I had been to Costa Rica for 10 days in 2005? lol, who knows except them. They are usually pretty good about stuff like that. When I asked about what the "typical" wait time was or could be I was told "there is no such thing as typical wait time because everyone's case is different" and they are right.

Good Luck to you!!  ;D
