I recently received my EU passport. No plans to ever leave Canada, but it's nice to have.

I was born in Canada. So were my parents, as were three of my grand-parents. I never considered myself eligible for an EU passport.

But, one grandparent was born in Ireland. You can become an Irish citizen if one of your grandparents was born in Ireland.

Ireland is one of the 28 member states of the EU.

My mother, bless her heart, told me about it and collected the required documents.

Aye I knew about this Mike, my wife is part Irish and have brought up with her about getting it.

She doesn't seem interested.. she's part Irish so I don't push it
