How to tell where current job openings are?

I've looked everywhere I could online, looked everywhere I could on the various CF sites, and searched this forum high and low, and as far as I can tell there's no way to tell which jobs are currently open to application in the Army. Do I really have to just keep applying for all the different jobs randomly, one at a time? I can't go into a meeting with a recruiter, go over all the careers I'm able to apply for (as far as openings and education is concerned)? Has anyone that's joined recently encountered a similar problem?

I went to my local recruiting center today (Hamilton, ON), and from what the man at the front desk told me the only 'likely' openings (in the Army) are for an Information Systems Technician, and from what I can see I doubt very highly my math marks in school are good enough to get me anywhere with that.

Presumably this will be closed before anyone can help an aspiring soldier out, which is a little dumb as non of the newbie FAQs are any help to me at all.

Anyone have any advice?

The CFRC are the only guys who can give you the answers. If you are serious about joining up, ask him some serious questions and actually talk to him about what you'd like to sign up for.

Do the "idiot" test (I'm sure the nickname has changed) and see what trade you qualify for.

It could very well be that the only trade open right now is the one you just mentioned.

Hi Adam,

It's been said on this forum many times: the Canadian Forces website may not be accurate when it comes to opened/closed trades. For the past few months, trades have been opening and closing very fast.

The best beat is really to ask a recruiter.

Like everyone said the best thing to do is actually go to your local CFRC, job openings constantly change, i was told that position i wanted was closed, was persistent and called my file manager and a spot had luckily opened up. So keep checking back.
