If I am a single, would my parents benefit from the 'CF Dental Care'?

Hello everyone,

If all goes well, I will be enrolled at either RMC or Civvy U this fall through ROTP. I was wondering if I become a member of the Canadian Forces, would my parents also benefit from the CF Dental Care? I've read a brochure long time ago and it said;

'Medical and dental coverage is also available for your family.'

I always thought it would just cover for your wife and children but since I am single, would things be worked out differently?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Only if they were your "Dependents".  If they were invalids and under your care, living under your roof, then they may be covered.

Family in this case refers to your "Dependents": spouse and children under the age of 21 (I believe--someone may have the actual age limit handy.)

Age 25 if they are in school.

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your comments. My parents are self-employed so they don't have any type of Dental care plan. Just hoping that their only son could give them some help down the road, well a lot more than just a Dental care.

:)

While the dependant dental care plan will not apply to your situation, you will make enough money to help pay for private coverage of some form for them.

It's an idea.
