This attachment has some interesting information.  I encourage all infantryman to read it.

I talked to LCol Melancon about a few of the topics in there (mainly officer trg) back in January.  As an officer who works in the training system, modularization is the key word.  Most courses are being broken into mods for both the Reg and Res forces.  In a lot of cases both Reg and Res troops are attending the same courses.  This summer when the PLQ Inf is run in Gagetown, both Reservists and troops from 2RCR are supposed to be on the same course and they will get the same qualification.

I deleted the French from the document because I had to make it under 128kb.

Thanks for that update.. (I'm sure I'll see it come down the chain eventually, but most of the news comes from this site first anyway)

Looks like lots of new equipment coming to us, and many courses being improved..  except for what they are doing to the CAP course..  That course is all about working as a section in battle.  You learn throughout the course how to work together and mold into a cohesive section (even though the young officers are from different trades, they all get the appreciation for how a basic section operates).  By essentially splitting the course into modules, and allowing officers who failed off (or were injured) to come in half way through a course is ridiculous.  They would lose so much of what the course is supposed to offer.  What is the problem with making them start over from the beginning?  Do they all get injured during the first field ex..?  Is the Nav Ex too difficult?

But I do agree that Sgts should be the DS throughout (not MCpls). They have the most experience  (and most current SOPs and TTPs) at the section commander position to pass on to these young officers..
Let's maintain the high standard at the infantry school!

Looks good, lots of exciting stuff in the pipeline. Why is everything suddenly looking so rosey?

A question - the plan lays out positions for 18 reservists per company in high readiness units. Anyone know any details of this?

I don't have any dope on the reservists, but when 2RCR was doing all of their high speed training a couple of years ago they had a bunch of reservist augmentees in different positions throughout the battalion (including rifleman).
