I was wondering if anyone has any RUMINT on what's going on with 1.1?  They've added two more weeks to Mod 5 (which euchres my plan to finish the course this summer, because getting five weeks off work was hard, seven is going to be nearly impossible!) and there are now staggered serials.  What's the new content that's been added in to the course?  I'm sure (with the way the course has been evolving) that it is all going to be great training, but I'm trying to get an idea of what the rationale is.  Anything anyone thinks they know is appreciated!

I'm surprised that they were able to add time to a Phase course, the RMC academic year usually prevents any additions.  Once thing I will say is that you should have the attitude that the longer the course is the better to ensure you're as well trained as possible to prepare you for commanding a platoon.  Its sink or swim for platoon commanders once you get to a battalion!!!!

They've moved FFQ from DP 1.2 (Phase IV) to DP 1.1 (Phase III), but I am unsure of what the time increase is at.

Infanteer, I bet the FFQ accounts for a good part of it (and it's a good move for the reserve since we don't get to do Phase IV.  It's a drag that I found out just now after having to really push just to get the time off I did.  However, I'm going to get a lot of help from higher up the chain to make it work, so we'll see what I can come up with.  And Garett, I have no doubt that it's a good think - more training and time spent out there is for sure a good thing, especially since it's the best opportunity to draw really current info to bring back to my unit.  Should all be a blast...

If its just FFQ, I believe every area is running FFQ crses so you may not have to do it as part of the DP 1.1 crse.
