Okay here is where I stand...  I'm 16, 17 on May 9th...  Enrolled into Reserves, have to hand in my eye report thing to Toronto, takes 2 weeks I heard...  The thing is, I'm going FULL force as soon as I turn 17...  Parents signing me for it too...  I know finishing school would be better, more doors open, but I am determined to get in, or stubbern...  But yes what do I have to do and how long will it take?  Thank you.

X, to go Reg Force, I would really be surprised if the Recruit Centre would look at you if you tried before you were done high school. With the training system the way it is right now, you would be one of the luckiest individuals around to become trades qualified in a year and a half through your home unit. That would give you something to try and do a component transfer with, but only if you were staying in the same trade. Talk to the Recruit Centre and tell them your plans, they may be able to help you plan your best course of action to achieve your goals.

Good Luck.

I would highly recommend finishing high school before enlisting full-time... I'm sure there will still be bad guys around in a year or two so don't rush it...

As stated in other threads relating to this, the general concensus is to stay in school.  What are you gonna lose by waiting a few years to finish your high school?  It's FREE education.  Guess what, after high school there is nothing free anymore, not a single thing. Take advantage of it, you'd be crazy not to.

Oh but to answer your question, it takes a while. The application process can take 6 months, it can take 1 year.  It can take more or less all depending on many things.  And to do this, you just need to walk into the recruiting center and let them direct you from there.
