iPad 2

No.

There are a few MS office knockoffs such as iWork that can be passable and offer a certain degree of compatibility. I wouldn't hold my breath on Microsoft desigined the program for the iPad, and even if they did, I doubt Apple would allow it to sell on the App Store.

There is an Apple version of Office for their computers already, just not sure about the iPad

I have an IPAD 1st gen.  There is an application called Documents to Go.  It will allow you to do, excel, word and powerpoint.  Depending on which level you get will allow you the more advanced features.  I have the professional version onsale for 7.99 (at the time). Its probably as good as your going to get for microsoft products.

You can also get Letters, Numbers and whatever their Power Point equivalent is (which I've been told is better than .ppt).  It's expensive but they are good programs and very user-friendly.  You can transfer between the two and modify Word documents in it as well.  Unfortunately you may lose some formatting when you go between each of them.

Also Quickoffice, available for iPad 1 but I would imagine would work on iPad 2. Haven't used it much but so far good for reading MS Office documents.
