+1 to HoM, a regular laptop case will be sufficient enough as long as you have enough padding between the top and bottom of the bag you're good to go for the Herc flight. I find the Pelican cases, as nice as they are for laptops, are quite cumbersome and take up a lot of room. Best bet is a smaller hard case version, however, Pelican is the best.

the Pelican cases are also water/DUST tight, so it will at least protect your laptop from dust wile you are over there (especially if you will be mostly outside the wire).

A few bucks for a Pelican is worth more than ALOT of bucks for a new laptop; consider it an insurance policy.  ;D
