I understand that issued CADPAT is IR treated.

My question is: How effective is this IR treating?

Has anyone here actually seen the effectiveness of the IR treating first-hand?

Regards,

Chris.

Its treated as is our AUSCAM, but it washes out after a while.

we also treat our AUSCAM with insect repellant, washed in large tubs when we go into the ‘J‘, as mosquitos can have some ral bad diseases which are carried on to us.

It too washes out after a few washes.

Cheers,

Wes

I heard the treating makes them 40% less detectable to IR.

I heard the earth was flat and the moon made of cheese, doesn‘t mean it‘s true. If you don‘t have something concrete, don‘t post it. That‘s where rumours start and threads break down into stupid arguments.

I saw two soldiers, one wearing CADPAT and the other wearing OD, through a NODLR. The CADPAT was slightly harder to see, but the difference wasn‘t significant. However, this was after the CADPAT had been washed several times.
