Iran Super Thread- Merged

True.

I'm just saying he isn't doing things to "change the channel", he quite likes the attention. Good or bad, he just wants more.
A bit of both I think, but on this one we probably agree more than we disagree.

In any case, the airframe movements are painting a familiar picture.

Agreed, He lives by this simple rule:

Hmmm... curious: home grown or otherwise?

Explosions rock Iran with at least five dead after Donald Trump threatened to attack regime over deaths of protesters

Two explosions rocked Iran on Saturday and killed at least five people as the country continues to grapple with violent protests.

One person, a four-year-old girl, was killed, and 14 more were injured following a blast near Iran's southern port of Bander Abbas today.

The port, which lies on the Strait of Hormuz, handles about a fifth of the world's seaborne oil, and is also reportedly home to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Headquarters.

Might be something, might be nothing… If we hear someone particularly important got got, ok. But even in a country on the brink of getting bomb, infrastructure accidents and such still happen too.

We can be sure any hint of anything out of Iran will be sensationalized.

False flag so US can be blamed?

There are claims that the head of the IRGC has disappeared and likley with millions in gold and cash. That more and more soldiers and police are publicly siding with the protesters.

Second carrier group on its way...

Trump says Iran regime change is 'best thing that could happen'

US President Donald Trump says regime change in Iran is "the best thing that could happen", signifying one of his clearest endorsements for replacing the clerical establishment.

"For 47 years, they've been talking and talking and talking. In the meantime, we've lost a lot of lives," he said on Friday.

Trump declined to specify who he wants to lead Iran, but noted "there are people" who could take over. Iran's clerical ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not yet responded to Trump's latest remarks.

Meanwhile, the US sent a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East to add pressure on Iran to secure a nuclear deal.

I’ve been watching the tracking of the buildup and… Wow. The move of E-3s is major; half of their E-11 BACN fleet is there or en route. Buttloads of tankers. Tons of fighters and more still coming- 22, 35, 15, 16 all. CSAR, special operations Hercs, EA-18s. Even a U2 speculated to function as a data bridge between 22s and 35s.

It’s fast coming on shit or get off the pot time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Friday or Saturday night once the second carrier is close and markets are closed.
☪️ Ramadan Kareem…

30+ tankers in the AO…

And a bunch more than that still in Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, and the Azores. They seem to have everything needed in place to support really significant strategic bomber ops from CONUS to Iran and back.

Why wait for the weekend to not disrupt markets? How do you make money if the markets are closed and you can't manipulate them?

I wonder if a ground invasion from Iraq might feature ;)

Blowing them back into the Stone Age from the air and then flying away just creates more problems long term. Somebody needs to step up and take on running the country, and somebody else needs to guarantee his/her security. Hint - it can’t be the UN…

I don’t believe the U.S. could sustain a ground force very large or very long. They’ll look to the Iranian people to build what’s next, though of course with much overt and much clandestine involvement.

I maintain my suspicion that the U.S. will want to put SOF-led teams into certain Nike sites to extract some intelligence, materiel, and to ensure actual destruction of key facilities. This would be complex and not super fast, but would be more pinpoint.

Any U.S. troops who linger, though, will definitely start taking drones to the face. U.S. doesn’t want that.
