Iran Super Thread- Merged

I really feel bad for the Kurds. This will be the third time they've been used by the US. And it will only go as long as the Turks tolerate it. Then the US abandons them.
I wonder how long Turkey can go to that well? Rumours of Baloch uprising as well. Im not sure a general civil war in Iran is a good thing

Iraq and Yemen bear watching too.

I'm sure the Kurds are ready to have their hearts broken by Trump again.

If the U.S. is considering arming the Kurds to carve out part of Iran, how do we think Turkey will react to that?

The U.S. is claiming it will offer to insure tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, and even escort if necessary. If they pull the rug out form Iran's ability to simply slash tanker traffic by jacking insurance rates, watch for Iran to get more actually kinetic against shipping, and also to hit, say, oil loading terminals and pipelines.

One of the drones that hit the U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia allegedly hit the CIA station there, per Washington Post.

Still trying to find corroboration that the airstrike on the Assembly of Experts (who choose the Supreme Leader) actually hit the people and not just their building. I've yet to see this firm up conclusively. There's also conflicting reports that Khamenei's son has been chosen, or that a choice is still pending. While a lot of senior regime leadership were certainly killed, it looks like the president and the other necessary figures for an interim ruling council are still in the game.

Like I said earlier today - if Iran goes the route of Syria, then Europe is about to gain another 2+million refugees. And at that point, if that doesn’t sink the EU's opinion of the US, nothing will. Maybe it's the case of the EU saying to the US, GTFO of NATO.

And the USN will start escorting ships.
I bet the RCN somehow gets roped into this to gain trade clout.
I see a great role for the AOPS. They have a strengthened hull, can not use their flight deck and can store food for 4months and can add cans for boarding parties.
Add a few stinger missile stations and voila you have a excellent mission for the ship class. .

WSJ is reporting that a single Kuwaiti F/A-18 shot down the three U.S. F-15s. Sorry, I don’t have a non-paywall link yet.
